About us

Life as we've known it was flipped after absorbing the news of multiple aneurysms and the new reality we face. We have passion to help others and while sharing our journey. One philosophy I've adopted over the years is to avoid wasting pain - it's an incredible professor if we listen. As we author this little blog, we hope to increase awareness and fill some gaps for others. So far, I haven't found many stories out there of couples walking the path on which we now find ourselves. We don't wish to be in a Fire Swamp, but here we are! I'll bring (sometimes drag) Steven into the blog; he's a good writer, but a reluctant patient at this point.  We want to help others and in that, we will help ourselves to work through the challenges while experiencing them. I'm thankful that we'll be able to shine some light on the amazing aorta, the candy cane shaped hose that we are now so keenly attuned to. It's just another of the miraculous parts of the heart and body, another of the countless unsung heroes that we ignore until it doesn't function properly. 

We live in the Pacific Northwest, are the proud parents of 4 (quadruplets), own a comic shop, and are doing our best to live lives that leave the world a little better than we found it. Also, we are fans of The Princess Bride novel (by William Goldman), hence our blog title. We feel this journey merits being likened to the Fire Swamp. Yes, A.O.U.S.s are real, so let's get through this together!
